Microcomputer Systems 810:023
This page is required for the spring of 1999 Microcomputer Systems
class. The page will be named micro.html. To URL for this page is:
http://www.cns.uni.edu/~yourChaosUserId/micro.html
The following four links are required for Microcomputer Systems class.
At least two of them must be ready before 4 p.m. Friday afternoon,
April 30th. They can be changed to .html format if you know how to do
web pages and want to use HTML to present your information.
- Here is a networking page where
you can learn some more about Windows NT networking and/or
TCP/IP networking concepts.
- Here is my
image for NT class information.
I created this image using PhotoShop and exported it as a .gif file, or
else I created my drawing using Paint and then used the convert command
on chaos to convert it from the .bmp format into the .gif format.
- It is NOT just a screen snapshot. Rather it is a drawing I
creating using
Paint or using PhotoShop to illustrate and develop my understanding of
some of the concepts and/or skills from the 810:023 class.
-
The drawing has my initials or signature somewhere on
it.
- Here is a
microprocessor page where you
can learn some more about how the microprocessor works, possibly
talking about and reviewing the fetch/execute cycle, RAM, cache, bus
technology, L1 versus L2 cache, branch prediction.
- Here is a page of my choice (your choice)
that can be anything related to what has been covered in the course.
It could be more on networking, sliding windows, tcp/ip, the boot process,
troubleshooting, windows 95, OLE, the structure of NT from the HAL to the
kernel to the services, multimedia, graphics, Visual Basic and VBA and
automation, scanners, the registry, file systems, Windows NT techniques
and shortcuts, etc.
These four pages are a review of some of my notes and handouts and
the textbook. It is not meant to be a formal presentation, but a learning
and review tool and process for myself and other members of 810:023 class.
The pages from the class will be linked to from
the 810:023 page
